  5. PPP is a DOS ODI driver that implements the Point-to-Point Protocol over
  6. a standard serial port, and supports IP protocol stacks.   PPP also
  7. supports PAP (Password Authentication Protocol) for security.
  8.  
  9. LOADING THE PPP DRIVER
  10. ----------------------

  12.     Since the PPP driver is an ODI driver, it requires a program called
  13. LSL.COM to be loaded prior to loading the PPP driver.  LSL.COM is a Novell
  14. program (known as the Link Support Layer), and is provided with Novell's
  15. Netware and other Novell products.  Klos Technologies, Inc. has licensed
  16. this program and distributes this file as a courtesy to our customers.

  18. LOADING THE PPP DRIVER FOR USE WITH LAN WORKPLACE
  19. -------------------------------------------------

  21.     The typical sequence of events for loading the PPP driver for use with
  22. Novell's LAN WorkPlace products are as follows:

  24.         LSL
  25.         PPP
  26.         PPPMENU         (to configure and establish a connection)
  27.         TCPIP           (from Novell)
  28.  
  29.     At this point, you should be able to run PING, TNVT220, FTP or any
  30. other LAN WorkPlace applications.

  32. LOADING THE PPP DRIVER FOR USE WITH KALI
  33. ----------------------------------------

  35.     The typical sequence of events for loading the PPP driver for use with
  36. KALI are as follows:

  38.         LSL
  39.         PPP
  40.         IPSTUB          (provides an ethernet packet driver interface)
  41.         PPPMENU         (to configure and establish a connection)
  42.         PPPWAT          (this updates your WATTCP.CFG file)
  43.         KALI @CENTRAL   (connects you to Kali Central)

  45.     At this point, you would load KCHAT or your gaming software.  If you
  46. have any problems using the KALI software, you can contact KALI technical
  47. support by sending email to 'support@kali.net'.

  49. LOADING THE PPP DRIVER FOR USE WITH DOSLYNX

  52.     The typical sequence of events for loading the PPP driver for use with
  53. DOSLYNX are as follows:

  57.         IPSTUB                  (provides an ethernet packet driver interface)
  58.         PPPMENU                 (to configure and establish a connection)
  59.         PPPWAT DOSLYNX.CFG      (this updates your DOSLYNX.CFG file)
  60.         DOSLYNX                 (start DOSLYNX)

  62. LOADING THE PPP DRIVER FOR USE WITH AN ETHERNET PACKET DRIVER BASED IP STACK

  65.     The typical sequence of events for loading the PPP driver for use with
  66. an ethernet packet driver based IP stack (such as FTP Software's PCTCP,
  67. Kali, or NCSA Telnet) are as follows:

  70.         PPP
  71.         IPSTUB          (provides an ethernet packet driver interface)
  72.         PPPMENU         (to configure and establish a connection)
  73.  
  74.     At this point, you would load your ethernet packet driver based IP
  75. stack.  For FTP Software's PCTCP, you'd load ETHDRV.  Any other IP
  76. applcation designed for use with an ethernet packet driver could be
  77. loaded at this point.
